I am a triathlete – it took me a while to be confident enough to say that out loud!
I’ve always been a sporty person, representing my school at athletics and cross country and competitive club swimming and life guarding took up my early years, followed by a dabble in karate then moving onto club running, marathons and ultra marathons in my 30’s.
I Love the outdoors and now spend my time trail running, MTB’ing, road biking, lake and river swimming and walking my puppy (who doesn’t know it yet but is going to be a runner too when he grows up).
Being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2012 put a stop to the long distance stuff and that’s when I found my love for multi sports. In 2013 I donned my first AG GB kit for the World Aquathlon Championships in London, followed by the European Aquathlon Champs and World Champs in 2014.
I hope to take that further but am determined to keep it fun, enjoy it and not become obsessive by remembering why I’m doing it in the first place.
Don’t wait for tomorrow to live your dreams, chase them now.
